***Warning*** RAGDOLL BLUES Kitten Mill! Kittens with RINGWORM and EAR MITES Kathy Renteria/RAGDOLL BLUES does not take kittens to be seen by a Veterinarian from birth to being placed in a home!!!! Kathy Renteria/RAGDOLL BLUES sent kittens to new homes with Ringworm and Ear-mites infecting our whole house. Let me be clear. Given the pandemic our house has been isolating for nearly a year. There have been no animals or people other than our immediate family in the home. Our new kitten had scabbing and wounds when we took receipt. Having NEVER had ringworm I had no idea what was going on with our new kitten until 10 days into his time with us. Within 10-12 days we all broke out with ringworm, photos to follow. My elderly mother had it the worst. After surviving COVID she was infected due to Kathy Renterias irresponsibility. DO NOT get your kitten from Kathy Renteria/RAGDOLL BLUES

RagdollBlues - Ragdoll Cat Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
DO NOT BUY KITTENS FROM RAGDOLL BLUES. Whole family infected with ringworm, and unsuspecting friends. hundreds of dollars in vet bills and cats still contagious and quarantined almost 2 months later. Don't fall for her "ringworm is no big deal" or "my vet checked and didn't see anything" or "just use this liquid it gets rid of it in a week!" It's a lie and she will take thousands of dollars and continue infecting households as long as she's not held accountable. She also said she was closing her doors but I see she is still advertising new kittens. They WILL be sick (my cats had a parasite, extremely contagious ringworm, and one was so lethargic it barely ate). She also said she would pair cats with you according to your personality, then once you deposit, she says "you'll be happy with any of them". Love my cats, but at this point it's a rescue mission bc I could return them to her unsanitary home where she says she would treat them, or she would take them back for a full refund but only refund my money once she sells the sick cats to someone else. Please heed my advice. Find another breeder. Ragdoll blues is going to sell you overpriced sick kittens and you will regret it. She ruined Christmas for our son who has developmental delays (which is why we bought the kitties), and he still doesn't understand why he can't see, touch, or Play with them. I personally had to take 3 weeks of oral medication to clear my ringworm and he is still battling ringworm with daily topical treatment. Just DONT!

Please enlighten me, because I'm beyond upset. We are going on nearly 3 months of medication with continuing positive cultures.

interesting that none of the litter mates or my family have ringworms. They all sleep on our beds.

This customer was offered a full refund..she refused. All individuals have different immune systems..if you have issues with your immune system I would not allow any animal in your home..they all have their on microflora.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1275136

I don't have immune issues Kathy. You have a filthy home and all of your cats have ringworm.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Oh by the way, they STILL HAVE RINGWORM. Also, you offered me a refund to take the cat back after you sold it to someone else. Absolutely horrible horrible business ethics as well as personal responsibility.

These cats "microflora" would be just fine if you didn't raise them. Btw you told me you get ringworm and bleach takes care of

It. Your lying has finally caught up to you I hope.

Please stop breeding animals. They deserve better, and I did not deserve to be manipulated by a *** artist.

I read the reviews and I was wrong

Kathy is a nice lady, and she convinced me ringworm is no big deal and gave me a little bottle of liquid to treat "any spots" my kittens may have, after lengthy discussion regarding the health of the kittens and the ease of treating ringworm. Well, three weeks in, my entire family has ringworm (as well as a family friend who contracted ring worm from US.) I personally have between 10-15 ringworm spots on my body. Kathy convinced me that i could just spot treat ringworm on the kittens, and it would be gone in 5-10 days and told me not to go to the vet, do not give the cats medication for ringworm, nor isolate them since its not a big deal. My house is contaminated, my body is covered in a fungal infection ( as well as my toddler, husband, parents and their friends) . I spent thousands of dollars on these kittens and will spend hundreds more to make them well. They have spent the last week quarantined in my bathroom and tonight when i was checking on their skins progress, i realized they also have fleas. Her cats are beautiful, and they are sweet and I can't wait till the day i can actually touch and hold them, but as of now, the vet recommends 2-3 MONTHS of medication, isolation and a rigorous routine of cleaning with bleach and avoiding contact.( they would not handle the kittens without gloves). Her cats are amazing, but you will be out much more than you initially thought you would invest if you buy kittens from Kathy. Such a shame.

30 kinds of fungal spores live in Texas. It is in our air and in our soil.

Only those with immune disorders are affected. Jkat.Inc has a chlorine dioxide liquid that the TICA recommends all breeders use. .well documented and vet tested. Works on contact if product is used.

It does have to be applied daily, and is recommended due to the nontoxic benefits. Itraconazole used by Vets is a chemotherapy.

RagdollBlues - Rag doll blues cats
We have gotten two young rag dolls from Kathy. They are beautiful, sweet, clever girls. If we get another, it will definitely be from her. We enjoyed visiting her cattery. She was a gracious hostess and educator about the breed. Both girls have their own personalities and get along beautifully with another cat and two dogs. Obviously, they have been well socialized by their breeder. Each of them integrated quickly into our family routines. They found their best cat tree spot, favorite games and preferred treats.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH RAGDOLL BLUES

I had a TERRIBLE experience with this breeder. Original poster seems to have gone through what I did when I dealt with Kathy. And no I am not a breeder just a consumer who had to deal with this unsavory breeder. I purchased two cats from Kathy. I also saw her home and it was a not in any way sanitary or a place you would want any animal let alone a human. In my dealing with her, it was clear she was only concerned about the money and was willing to say whatever she needed to sell a cat. One of the cats I purchased turned out the be a complete nightmare as he was already 6 months old although she told me numerous times of his good nature. She also agreed to give me a full refund then continued to state that she was out of money so I would have to wait until her next sale. I finally got a refund after so much back and forth and headache I felt physically sick dealing with this lunatic! Nothing about her was professional. Now I have one cat from her and she appears to have ringworm; taking her to the vet first thing in the morning. I can only assume she came to me with it as I have never boarded her or let her leave the house. Kathy you should be ashamed of yourself and I hope the state shuts you down. Oh and Kathy frequently changes her story and conveniently forgets what she stated or any facts. FIND A REPUTABLE BREEDER AND AVOID THIS WOMAN.

Interesting she came back for a second kitten who was absolutely adorable. I spent 4 days frantically trying to purchase the kitten back from her as she changed her mind back and forth and stated she was leaving him in the garage.

I finally was able to rescue my precious baby.

He was thrilled to see me and road on my neck purring all the way home. Later a disabled person who lives in a wheelchair fell in love with him and he adoringly sits on her lap and lays on her bed as the wonderful companion he is.

Rag Doll Blues

With regards to Kathy Domeny; from Rag Doll Blues in Texas; we purchased two of her adult female cats in 2013. They came to us house broken, spayed and with shots. Aside from a little timid at first, they were completely healthy, happy and loving cats. We got the veterinarian to look at them, updated a few shots and moved on with everything. Unfortunately for us, it was not a happy ever after with these two babies. In January 2015, we lost our home to a fire, the cats were outside but the firetrucks scared them back into the house. The firemen were wonderful and located them quickly and brought them out. Cocoa survived but had to be on oxygen and revived in the yard, she has her picture with the amazing paramedic that saved her on the front of the paper, however, and this saddens me still today, Misty succumbed to the smoke inhalation. Moving forward again a few weeks, I notified Kathy, not because I had to, but because I felt the need to let her know what had happened. She sent her condolences as expected but went above and beyond and gifted our family another adult female cat not to replace Misty but to help Cocoa. She sent us Clover; Clover was what we needed to help Cocoa to heal and our family to as well. She never asked us for money for Clover and even had another family bring her to us several hours away. Clover again, came to us timid, but otherwise happy and healthy. We have now had three adult cats from this breeder, and have had nothing but wonderful dealings with her. I cannot say anything with regards to kittens as we have never purchased a kitten, we personally as a family do not want to have a kitten, so we always purchase or adopt older cats as a preference. However, even without purchasing a kitten, these lovely Queens, that we have purchased or were gifted were obviously loved and well taken care of. They are all loving, cuddly, amazing cats only that way by I can only assume their kitten and early years with Kathy. I will be returning to her in the future to get another “Queen” for our home as they are by far the best cats we have ever encountered, and I only have Kathy to thank for that. Not only as a person, a cat lover, and a business woman, Kathy has proven without a doubt to us that she is willing to go above and beyond not only for her cats but the families that gained their new family member whether new or old customers. I would highly recommend her for anyone that wants a ragdoll now or in the future.

So i actually wanted to post a good post about RagdollBlues. Kathy was quite kind to me over Odin, my mink mitted ragdoll kitten. He warmed up to me pretty quickly and is a real sweetheart! I only had one issue with Odin, and my vet told me that Odin had a slight Staff infection (i think thats what its called). This type of infection is common in cats and can even be treated with human neosporian! Easy, cheap fix and it isnt even contagious. I actually didnt use the neosporian, but i did use the skin care kit that Kathy gave me and it cleared up the infection just fine. Odin is happy, healthy and I couldnt ask for more. When I went to pick up Odin from Kathy's residence it did not smell overwhelming of urine, and when I went inside her house was clean. I would definitely consider getting another kitten from Kathy Domney in the future.

Ringworm infected kitten

I, too, purchased a breeder kitten from Kathy Domeny a few months ago. I had never seen or had an animal with ringworm before and did not know it was covered with ringworm until my vet told me what all the little bumps on him were. It infected my whole cattery and I am still dealing with it. It has been a nightmare. Kathy at first blamed the carrier that brought him to me and had never warned me that she had this problem in her cattery. The kitten eventually died of the ringworm because it was so massive. I am now treating 3 litters of kittens, each time thinking I had them in a clean safe place, but the ringworm appeared, even with my constant cleaning, disinfecting and twice daily treatment on 17 kittens. I think it will never end and Kathy certainly changed my daily routine and enjoyment of my kittens.

This was a very unfortunate situation! Evidently the kitten had an immune disorder.

He died very young. I had previously purchased 11 times from this breeder and although 1 kitten gave my entire cattery Bordatella causing the loss of 28 kittens, and 1 died of FIP..I had always forgiven and forgotten. After hearing of this kitten Sharon was never charged for him and She had my sincere apologies..Still she chose to post this ugly scenerio. It saddens me.

we all love and work with and for the best lives we can give our babies in this fallen world of sin..there is no perfection. We do have germs and microbes to live with.

Guest

What I actually said Sharron is the courier could be transporting the fungus in her bag. I took jkat chlorine dioxide to the airport and instructed her on the use of it and why it was important.

Interesting that you are complaining about me online when you sent me 1 kitten with Bordatella that infected my entire cattery and cost me $50,000 and loosing my new home..I never mentioned that online..then the next kitten had FIP and died at 7 months and you refused to replace him even after I have been a loyal friend and customer paying you $11,000. Let's see 3 of the cats you have sold me would not produce kittens and have had to be spayed and rehomed. I do not create microorganisms..but I did share with you how to treat it. You fail also to mention the perfect solid chocolate kitten that you love and adore you got from me at the same time.

I do not control how a kittens immune system works either. I do feed 100%organic human grade meat pet food and offer wheat grass and purified mineral water. I do clean with antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial products..and use these sprays and shampoos on all kittens. Way above and beyond what any other breeder that I have spoken to does.

I also teach skin care and send home products to help educate everyone if they ever have a problem.

Guest

Are you meaning to say that you are breeding kittens? When will ignorant, heartless humans stop breeding animals for money.

There are millions of unwanted animals killed in this country each year, because there simply are not enough homes. Please stop adding to this problem.

Piedad Efx

How sad. She sold me a kitten in May 2015 with active ringworm.

She lied and finally fessed up that she thought "maybe" he had fungus. Maybe? He had dry patches all over and hair loss. He was very malnourished.

The vet helped me nurse his sick soul back to health.

I now consider him an expensive rescue. He would not have survived in her cattery.

Piedad Efx

She knew her cattery had ringworm. She sold me a cat in May 2015 with active ringworm.

She lied in several emails, broke my kids' heart because she kept holding our kitten. She said she wasn't sure if he had ringworm.... Duh. A huge case.

He was very malnourished, as well.

We are still dealing with the fall out - he tested positive again 2 weeks ago. We all had to be treated, as well.

Guest

I sent you weekly pictures of your little guy and told you all along he was too tiny. I also told you I was concerned he had ringworm and you and your children could get it.

I even sent home the medicine you needed to treat it and had you sign a consent knowing that he was being treated for a fungal infection. I never lied to you. Your exact words were you are breaking my kids hearts keeping us away from our baby. I can write prescriptions and know how to treat my kids and I am not worried about ringworm at all.

30 species of fungus live on trees in Texas. If you live on a wooded lot you will see it.

I sent you the chlorine dioxide spray that TICA recommends. If you did not use it..I can't help that.

In November of 2013, we put down a 50% deposit of $1025 on a young Ragdoll Breeder kitten that was to be delivered to us at 10 weeks via an air courier costing $300 from Dallas Texas. The breeder of this kitten was Kathy Domeny the owner/operator of RagdollBlues.com. This breeder guaranteed that the kitten was in GOOD HEALTH and free of any infection or disease. When our kitten arrived on January 19 at the Philadelphia Airport in a very small soft sided carrying case, it was quite obvious that the kitten was not clean. His fur was full of dry skin dander and his claws had not been groomed. In taking the kitten home it was necessary for my wife to hold the kitten in her arm since the kitten came in a courier owned carrying case and we had not been advised to bring along a case. My wife contacted Domeny as soon as we got home and told her of our findings. Domeny stated that it was pine litter and it was not dry skin. The kitten was examined on the third day by a vet and it was determined that the dander was Dermatophytosis (Ringworm). A scaly, crusted rash was found on the kitten skin that tested positive for Ringworm. When Domeny was questioned about this infection she said she did not know about the Ringworm, when in fact she had stated to my wife that she had this problem with Ringworm 4 times that required treatment and it was no big deal. Prior to this time my wife told Domeny do not send me an infected kitten. Domeny had 3 months to examine and treat this kitten before it was sent to us. This kitten was seen by Domeny's vet who is a horse vet and only stated that the kitten was OK to travel. It has cost us $750 to date to rid our cattery of this highly contagious disease caused by a fungi that requires daily treatment for 2 months. It is believed that this fungi comes from the dirt. She mandates in her contract that all kitten/cats must be kept indoors. Failure to do so will void the contract. This seems contradictory since she has a Youtube video on her website showing her cats out in her backyard rolling in the dirt (see attached video & images). This fungus has infected our cattery as well as my wife who has just had cancer surgery and it has taken an inordinate amount of time treating for this infection, and there is no end in sight. This individual has numerous sick kitten complaints against her and she refuses to do anything about it. May a word to the wise be sufficient DO NOT BUY ANY KITTENS FROM THIS BREEDER...

Guest

Let me present the facts. First of all let me tell you I begged these angry hateful led folks to send me the kitten back for a full refund and even arranged a courier..they refused 9x.

Also my vet practice is very large with 18 vets who practice there..so yes some do horses..why is this a problem? They are rated 1 of the best in the state. The kitten was examined with a clean bill of health 3 days before transport. I was trying pine litter and read on the bag a disclaimer that it could cause skin irritation with

pets.

This is what I was mentioning to her. At this time I had not ever seen any ringworm in my cattery but had 3 or 4x in my life..that is what I mentioned to her. Fact is fungal spores are so high in the south from Florida to California the fungal count is mentioned on the evening news. It is in the air.

Much like seasonal allergies..some get it and some do not. My question is why would you not prefer a full refund and remember to bring you cat carrier to the airport when meeting a courier..rather than complain?

Guest

I had a very similar experience and was never offered a refund, only excuses. Do not purchase from this backyard breeder! The original poster is not exaggerating, our problems were very similar and worse!

Guest

Interesting review from another Ragdoll breeder who obviously does not want me to be in business against her. The video on my site is not my home or my kittens...If you read under it a very happy owner of 3 of my kittens sent it.

My cats do not go outside. The kitten was flown via a courier who is an airline stewardess and transports on her days off. Thus the small carry on bag. Possibly the bag was not cleaned between transport.

The gorgeous kitten Leslie purchased was given a clean bill of health by a huge practice of 16 vets before flight. I have repeatedly offered a full refund with the return of the kitten and she refuses to do so. As my Heatlth Guarantee states I do not pay vet bills or shipping fees...but if you discover a problem that was not apparent to my vets here...return for a full refund no questions asked. If you are in anyway unsatisfied I want to refund you.

The last thing I want is my precious babies treated badly and hated.

I do give 3 baths 1 each month before going home and clean their ears and trim their claws. What else can I do?

Kathy you can never win with PET people. Friend sold a sweet but not very confident puppy, bought her back not even 12 hours later saying that she snapped at there 1 year old son that chased her around the house finally cornering her.

There older dog was allowed to harras her all night long. When she came to me I had a nut case on my hands.

In 3 days she was affectionate and happy. She is a sweet, gentle baby that needed time.

No you don't want the cats back. Ours was a breeder with no testicals and infested with ringworm.

All you suggested was that we put him down because he is of no use to you.

You never offered a different cat or our money back. We care for our cats but you so easily said to end his life like it was no big deal

Breeder is a hypocrite and very unethical. She sells interstate ragdoll kittens and has on her website that she has kittens in 11 states or more and sends them to unknowing consumers with active ringworm disease. My kitten came in RagdollBluesfilthy with claws unclipped, flaking and scabs all through its coat and numerous bare patches of skin on ears, chin, and numerous other areas of body that were raw and highly visible on first look. She has all kinds of psalms and biblical verses on her website and signs off saying "Blessings My Friend" and sends animals with a highly contagious skin disease that is contagious to all of your other animals and humans and is very expensive and time consuming to treat. See other complaints about on: Yelp, CFA Reviews, Better Business Bureau, Bureau of Consumer Protection Office of the Attorney General of Texas, Bureau of Consumer Protection Office of the Attorney General of Pa., Complaints Board.com. We bought a male Ragdoll from her. He smelled so bad that it was a long time before he lost that smell.

He was ate up with Ringeorm and infected our other cats as well. After much money, medicine and patience everyone is well again.

My boy was very sickly looking when he came to us but is a happy healthy boy today! Steer clear of this breeder!!!

Interesting to note that all complaints are from the same person. Seems highly ethical to me for the breeder to offer refunds.
